Black History Month Celebration Recap

During the month of February, FLVS held our annual Black History Month Showcase. Students celebrated the heritage, accomplishments, and culture of African Americans by attending multiple sessions, including:

  • Black History Comes Alive
  • African American Authors, Celebration of Afro-Latinos, and African-American Scientists
  • Black History in the Arts
  • Shining the light on African American Influences in Math / K-8 Read Aloud

Medal of Honor Day Celebration

In recognition of “Medal of Honor Day,” FLVS will celebrate exemplary Americans who have served the U.S. Armed Forces and received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Join us as we examine what this special award means and highlight a few recipients and their brave actions in a time of war. Participants will also discuss how Medal of Honor recipients inspire all people to become models of good citizenship.

Join the Medal of Honor Day celebration on Wednesday, March 13, at either 1 p.m. or 7 p.m.
Moderated by Elise Harris and David Fellows, teacher, and Suzanne Williams, Curriculum Specialist.

Pi Day Celebration

Pi day is to celebrate pi, the number 3.14159…it’s a number that goes on forever and it also happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday.

Join the FLVS Pi Day celebration on Thursday, March 14 @ 7 p.m.

I can’t wait for yearbooks to come out in virtual form! I also want to compete in national poetry month if there is any contest for it! I wish that we could have a sports contest! Some sports seasons are happening now! Softball, Tee Ball, and Baseball are all in season and I belive football and soccer are in season as well! Could that be possible?
