Kicking Off the Year at FLVS Full Time

The 2018-19 school year has arrived at FLVS Full Time High School. Our amazing teachers, counselors, support staff, and school leaders have worked tirelessly this summer planning for the year ahead. During the summer, we were able to reflect on the past school year and think about not only the challenges we faced, but also the many accomplishments and achievements.

Our students completed more courses than ever before and saw EOC assessment results increase in most areas. More students are participating in Dual Enrollment opportunities and AP courses as well. Our Dual Enrollment courses are through Polk State College; however, we also started a partnership with the University of Florida for dual enrollment that we anticipate will expand to more students next school year. These two schools offer high-quality online courses that fit perfectly with our model for instruction.

While student achievement and student success are our primary goals, we also took time to reflect on the community aspect of our school.  We will continue the Family Engagement program that was so successful last school year, including our face-to-face meetups that students and families enjoy.

Last year we added college visits across the state that were well-attended, and we look forward to hosting those again this year. Our school-wide field trip to Universal Studios was a huge success, and of course we are in the planning phase for another amazing opportunity this school year. Student clubs and organizations continue to thrive and grow. We are so excited about these extracurricular activities which include Our Academic Team, Mega News Network, Peer Ambassadors Program, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Senior Class, and, new this year, our Student Council. All these amazing opportunities coupled with an outstanding staff of instructors lead to the big event…Graduation!!! Our face-to-face graduation ceremony at the University of Central Florida is the culminating event each school year and if your student is a senior, I hope that you will be able to join us as he or she walks across the stage and receives his or her diploma.

While our staff works hard to help your student succeed, we also acknowledge that we could not do it without parents and guardians as partners. Working together we can accomplish nearly anything!
