- Glenn Walker, AP US Government instructor, who has written a mystery novel.

More Fun for CLW
With over 8,436 miles of shoreline in Florida, this year’s theme, “Take a Deep Dive Into Literacy – Splash Into New Worlds” highlights the unique aquatic ecosystems and stories of Florida as well as oceans and marine animals. Check out the grade level CLW-themed booklist here to learn more about these “fin-tastic” themes.
Celebrate Literacy Week wants Florida’s students and families to make reading part of their daily routines. You can join this mission by reading out loud the Reader’s Oath during class or throughout other CLW activities.
Love of Reading
Celebrate Literacy Week is an exciting time for the FLVS Literacy team. Planning and collaboration begins in September to organize digital events that students are passionate about. FLVS Literacy Manager, Patti Hunt, says, “it’s a work of love on behalf of our team to get kids excited about reading.”
And FLVS students agree! Charlotte says, “I love reading because it’s a way that I can travel to other places I would never be able to go in real life. By reading I get to feel and experience amazing things inside my imagination. Books have also helped me expand my vocabulary, general knowledge, and understanding of the world.”
Student, Lydia, says, “I like reading because it can teach you important lessons and take you places you may never visit in real life!”
We couldn’t agree more! This Celebrate Literacy Week, join FLVS and “Take a Deep Dive Into Literacy – Splash Into New Worlds!” We hope to see you at one or more of our FLVS CLW events!
I love this!! Super interesting!
