Celebrate Successes in 2014!

NewYearCover
Every January, about 45 percent of Americans resolve to accomplish a new goal or reform a habit with a New Year’s resolution.

Unfortunately, only about 8 percent are successful in keeping their resolutions.

Did you stick with your resolution for 2013?

What are your goals for 2014?

Here are a few tips to help you refocus, get reinvigorated, follow through and find success:

1) Double check that your goal is realistic and attainable.
2) Is your goal specific and clear on what you will achieve? (“I will lose 12 pounds by April 1.”)
3) Write the goal down!  Simply putting it on paper solidifies your ownership.
4) Start small.  Take it day by day (i.e. Increase exercise gradually over time).
5) Find a partner in crime!  Designate a friend, colleague, or other advocate to report to daily for accountability and provide encouragement.
6) Remind yourself often why this goal is important and worthwhile.
7) Don’t make excuses on a bad day.  Start fresh and get back on track.
8) Celebrate successes.

Believe in yourself! Best of luck!
