FLVS Corkboard: Back to School Highlights
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! Whether you are new to FLVS or are a returning student, we’re glad you’re here! Your teachers and the FLVS team have been hard at work preplanning and getting ready for an exciting new school year. Before we dive in with some highlights to note, it’s always nice to start by marking your calendars for the first official “holiday/day off” from school.
Labor Day
In observance of Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2 has been designated a holiday break for all FLVS instructors and support staff. Students are encouraged to continue their studies as courses remain open, but please be mindful that there will be a brief delay in teacher response.
Back to School Tips
While you won’t need a locker to secure your school books with FLVS, there are some important school supplies to help ensure your success. Review the top seven recommended supplies for FLVS.
Have a student starting elementary school? Starting off the new school year on the right foot is important at any age, but it is especially critical for elementary students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Read some ways you can help your child feel fully supported as he/she heads back to virtual school in the Virtual Voice blog, “Back-to-School Basics for Elementary Parents.”
Fall Courses Now Enrolling

Take advantage of our 190+ online courses, available tuition-free to Florida students. With 24/7 availability, you have the freedom and flexibility to learn anytime and anywhere. Explore courses for fall.
New Middle School Spanish Course
Middle School students who’ve completed beginning Spanish can now take their learning to the next level with MJ Spanish Intermediate. Continue to develop your grammar and vocabulary skills to help build basic fluency and language proficiency while exploring more of the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. This course, if taken as a two-course sequence after M/J Spanish Beginning, is equivalent to Spanish 1, and can fulfill one high school language credit.* Learn more here.
*Check with your school counselor to confirm this meets your specific high school graduation requirements or contact one of our FLVS Flex counselors.

This school year is going to be amazing, with the help of my teachers of course
My name is Julian, I am from Mexico and I am a senior.
Looking to see if my 8th grade and 10th grade daughters are still able to enroll.
My husband and myself have jobs that travel here and there and need to have our girls do the FLVS this year.
Hi Kerrie! With FLVS Flex, we offer rolling enrollment so you can start a new course anytime. To take all of your courses through Flex, your daughters will need to be registered with your Florida county of residence as homeschool students. Visit http://www.flvs.net/homeschool for details.
It is going to be a splendid year school thanks to my teachers Isabella
