It’s hard to believe it’s December already! The winter holidays always bring a bustle of fun and festivities and we are excited to share several activities happening soon. But first, from all of us at FLVS, we wish you and your family a wonderful and safe holiday season.
As a reminder, the Winter Holiday Break for FLVS teachers and staff is Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 – Friday, Jan 1, 2021. During the break, students are encouraged to continue in their studies, but please understand there may be a delay in grading and returned calls.

Hour of Code
Week of Dec. 7-11
Are you ready to code? What exactly is code? You’ll learn that and more when you join us for Hour of Code next week, Dec. 7-11. Learn the basics of coding for beginners to advanced skills in cyber defense, Java, Linus, and Python. Explore careers and much more with 39 presentations for all grade levels. Some sessions require “prework” and/or have download requirements, so be sure to view the schedule early!

Book Battle
Are you interested in joining the FLVS Book Battle competition? If you were unable to attend the information session, you can view the recording here. Once you complete the Book Battle Application, select the Sunshine State books from your grade level list that you want to read and start reading! Books must be read by Feb. 1 to be considered for the Book Battle team.
World Fest – Global Youth Village
Thursday, Jan. 28, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
