#FVHSClassof2023: 7 Steps to Help Seniors Prepare for Graduation Day!

Can you believe it? It’s almost time for graduation! While you may already be singing “Pomp and Circumstance” in your head, there’s still a lot to do before you walk across that stage. But don’t fear. We’re here to help! Here are seven steps to help Florida Virtual High School students prepare for graduation day.

1. Learn all the deets

Make sure to attend the Grad Info Sessions for important details regarding your graduation, including ticket info, parking, honors regalia, and much more.

All seniors and their parents should attend the info session on Wednesday, May 10 at 12 p.m. For students participating in the in-person graduation, a follow-up video conference rehearsal meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 17 at 12 p.m. Recordings for both sessions will be available on the Senior Website.

2. “Save the Date”

Will you be attending the in-person or virtual graduation? We provide both options for our FLVS Full Time students!

For those who want to attend the in-person ceremony, mark your calendar for May 26, 2023. Graduates must arrive at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Addison Financial Center at 12:30 p.m. with guests arriving one hour later and the big show beginning at 2 pm.

For students who want to take advantage of the virtual graduation, save the date for May 31, 2023, at 4 p.m. Family and friends can watch live or at a later time. Make sure to download your in-person or virtual “Save the Date” to share this exciting time with your friends and family.

3. Get your yard sign

Looking for another way to share your excitement about graduation? Pick up a Florida Virtual School Class of 2023 yard sign to display your Firebird pride for all to see.

4. Stock up on your Class of 2023 merch

Looking for more ways to display your #FVHSClassof2023 pride? Check out the  School Store, where you can purchase Class of 2023 merch -graduation announcements, t-shirts, bags, water bottles, keychains, and more.

5. Tag us in your Graduation Walk or Cap Toss

Sharing on social media is perhaps the best way to show your school pride. Tag us in your best cap toss Boomerang, Instagram reel, or Graduation Walk TikTok. Make sure to use the hashtag #FVHSClassof2023. You may be highlighted on the FLVS social media accounts.

6. Plan for the Future and Remember Your Roots

Whether you continue on your academic journey or begin your career after graduation, make sure to stay connected to your roots. Follow FLVS on LinkedIn, so you can network and keep up with other alumni.

And don’t forget to let us know how you’re doing. We always love to hear from our alumni to see how your FLVS education has led to your success. At any time in the future, you can fill out our Share Your Story to describe your achievements.

7. Celebrate with Friends and Family

While you may feel overwhelmed with all that you have left to do before graduation, our hope is that our steps can help you make the most of this special time. Remember to celebrate your accomplishments with your friends and family and thank them for all the support they’ve given to you throughout the years. Take lots of pictures and enjoy this moment.

Congratulations on your achievement! We are proud to soon call you a “Florida Virtual School Alumni.”
