Pencil’d In: 5 Student Activities to Add to Your Calendar

2024 is here—and so is the second semester! It’s time to embrace everything Florida Virtual School (FLVS) has to offer. From student activities and events to new digital wallpapers and graduation merch – it’s your chance to  make a fresh start.

Celebrate Literacy Week | Jan. 22-25, 2024

If reading more is one of your 2024 resolutions, then you’re in luck! To celebrate literacy, we’re hosting virtual sessions—and a reading challenge—Jan. 22-25. Learn more about upcoming activities for Celebrate Literacy Week

World Fest 2024 | Jan. 30-31, 2024

Grab your virtual passport—we’re traveling around the world! From Japan to Nigeria. You can learn about food, art, sports, and so much more through short presentations by FLVS teachers and staff. See what’s happening at World Fest

Black History Month | Feb. 12-16, 2024

Celebrate Black History Month with FLVS teachers, staff, and students by learning about African American history, black trailblazers in various career fields, and so much more. More information is coming soon.

Chinese New Year | Feb. 8, 2024

Ring in the Year of the Dragon with fellow students at the Chinese New Year Virtual Celebration on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. EST. FLVS teachers and staff will host virtual sessions and activities to teach students about Chinese New Year songs, traditions, Chinese greetings, cuisine, and more! 

Presidents’ Day | Feb. 19, 2024

Teachers and staff will be out of office Monday, February 19 in celebration of Presidents’ Day. As always, students are more than welcome to continue their studies. Enjoy your three-day weekend! 

Science Fair Showcase | March 14, 2024

FLVS students are busy in their “home lab,” preparing for the Science Fair Showcase. Join us to see student presentations and awards on March 14 at 4 p.m. EST.

Spring Break | March 18-22, 2024

Get your sandals ready—warmer weather is just around the corner! Spring Break for FLVS Full Time students and teachers will be Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 22.

        Hi Bert – Yes, we host in-person field trips and county meet-ups throughout the year. All upcoming activities can be found on your student dashboard.

      Yes they do! As a student myself (middle school flvs flex) I have been to a few of there in person stuff like one of the field trips (busch gardens last year) and club rewards. They recently did a field trip to a zoo and they are going to st augustine (sign ups are closed for it by the way) They have field trips for Full time to!

      Hi Carmen, Florida Virtual Full Time enrollment opens on June 3, 2024. If you would like to transition sooner, students can enroll in FLVS Flex year-round. Learn more at
