Celebrating the Heroes of FLVS: Teacher Appreciation Week 2021

Superhuman hearts. Super rare powers. Being able to encourage anyone they talk to. Someone we can count on to save the day. We’re talking about our Florida Virtual School teachers!  

Our teachers are the everyday heroes who inspire us to do and be our best. We’re grateful for them every day. But we’re especially thankful this year, and hope they’ve had an amazing Teacher Appreciation Week.   

Teachers, thank you for helping us fly to our fullest potential.

Thank you for lifting up students and families with what can only be called superhuman strength. Thank you for putting students first every day of this unprecedented school year. And in the words of the students and families you help every day, thank you for being you.

• “Mrs. Philips was such an amazing teacher. Kindergarten was amazing for my daughter!”  Mrs. Edwards in 5th grade Full Time is the best! We love her!”  
• “Thank you, Ms. Dora for being an awesome math teacher!”  
• “Mrs. Ross is a great teacher!”  
• “Mrs. Bell! The best environmental science and agriscience teacher.”  
• “We love Mrs. Marroletti!!!! She’s the best!”  
• “Ms. Hannah Hughes is amazing! My son loves her so much!”  
• “Mrs. Gaudier is an angel. We are so blessed to have had her this year.” 

Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week  

This year, we’re celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3 -7, with plenty of ways to honor FLVS teachers, including:  

• Send a shout-out to a teacher you appreciate on Flipgrid.  
• Show your appreciation with a Teacher Appreciation Week Zoom background. Get it here. 
• Use Padlet to share a message, photo, or video for a teacher you appreciate.  
• Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for a chance to see your special messages on our social channels.  

Teachers, you can also “pass the torch” to a teacher you admire. Share why you think they’re great by sending photos and a message to communications@flvs.net.  

As we look towards the end of the 2020-21 school year, we’re reminded not all superheroes wear capes. And we’re honored to have the opportunity to thank every teacher at Florida Virtual School for their superhero strength during a year unlike any other.
