Get to Know FLVS Full Time

FLVS Full Time is a tuition-free online public school that gives students the freedom to follow their own unique path to learning and build one-on-one relationships with teachers. Students enrolled with FLVS Full Time take all of their classes (a total of six online courses) following the standard school year.

In today’s blog post, two students share why they chose FLVS Full Time and describe a typical day as an online learning student.

FLVS Full Time middle school student Lydia enjoys the community that the school provides and the ability to schedule other activities:

FLVS Full Time is a community of people from a variety of backgrounds that join for this reason: to learn and grow. When people who go to FLVS Full Time grow, they not only grow as a student, but as a person too. Another great thing is the teachers who are very caring and help students whenever they need it. They are always available and happy to help!

For my routine, I wake up and get ready. I then go to any live lessons on that day – and I make sure to take notes during them too! After the live lessons, I take a short break. After the break, I get on my schoolwork. After I’m done with my classes, I practice my violin, which is one reason why I am at FLVS.

FLVS Full Time high school student Kaitlin chose FLVS Full Time because of the close relationships she has formed with her peers and teachers:

I selected Florida Virtual School Full Time because it gives me the flexibility to move across the state at different times of the year to explore new possibilities. Compared to other online school programs, I have been able to form connections with students and educators at Florida Virtual School. Their events help eliminate the virtual distance in order to have more contact with individuals with similar interests.

I have also developed my passions through the clubs available to students. I have not only been given the opportunity to gain valuable leadership skills, but I have also worked with teachers and administrators to help improve our FLVS Full Time community. Through face-to-face meetups and schoolwide events, the school has helped me reach my full potential inside and outside of my coursework. Their flexibility and aspirations to continue creating the best educational environment possible keep me an active supporter of the school.
