New Name, Same Commitment to Student Success: FLVS Global School is Now FlexPoint Virtual School

Today, we’re excited to announce that FLVS Global School, our tuition-based online school for Kindergarten-12th grade students and families who live outside the state of Florida, is now FlexPoint Virtual School. As we embark on this new chapter, we’re thrilled to carry forward our commitment to serving students and families like yours with the same award-winning digital courses, certified teachers, and unparalleled support that you’ve counted on for the past 20 years.

With FlexPoint Virtual School, you have 24/7 online access to more than 180 courses including NCAA-approved Core, Electives, World Languages, Career and Technical Education, Advanced Placement, and more – allowing you to take control of your educational path and study anytime and anywhere. Plus, all our courses are taught by real teachers who provide one-to-one support and guidance through live lessons so that you can feel confident to achieve your academic goals.

Question 1: Why is the name changing from FLVS Global School to FlexPoint Virtual School?

Our collective mission is to lead online education worldwide with innovative digital solutions that individualize learning for each student. In short: we want to meet every student where they are and help them succeed in the way that works best for them. By changing FLVS Global School to FlexPoint Virtual School, we’re one step closer to reaching our goal. 

Question 2: I’m a FLVS Flex or Full Time Student living in Florida. Will I now be considered a FlexPoint Virtual School student? 

No! FlexPoint Virtual School is a tuition-based school for students and families who live outside the state of Florida. We will continue to offer full-time and part-time online school options for students in Kindergarten-12th grade, tuition-free for Florida residents. Question 3: What’s the history of FlexPoint Virtual School?

FlexPoint Virtual School is built from the foundation laid by Florida Virtual School. Established in 1997, our organization quickly became known for its award-winning curriculum and instructional approach. In 2007, we began supporting students and parents on a national and international scale through FLVS Global School, now known as FlexPoint Virtual School. Today, Kindergarten-12th grade students across the nation turn to us for individualized learning and incredible results. 

Question 4: Is FlexPoint Virtual School a new company/entity/organization? 

No, we’re not creating a new entity or company. FlexPoint Virtual School is the new name for FLVS Global School.

Question 5: How is this affecting students, families, and school districts who work with FLVS Global School?

Students, families, and school districts outside the state of Florida will start to see FlexPoint Virtual School in the 2023-24 school year in educational and promotional materials. Our operations, instructional support, and award-winning curriculum will remain the same. 

Question 6: I am a Kindergarten-12th grade student living outside of Florida interested in taking courses online with FlexPoint Virtual School. How do I enroll?

    My child who is a rising 12th grade now lives in Japan by himself. We still reside in Florida. He has attended Florida public school all his life and finished 11th grade. Is he eligible for FLVS Flex or is it recommended to enroll him in FlexPoint?
