Ways for Online Elementary Students to Stay Active

As children are being educated at home, there are many changes in their daily routines – and ours, as parents. We find ourselves being the professionals and spending a lot of time supporting our children with academics and keeping them active, busy, and happy. This is quite a bit to juggle and it can be hard to keep all those balls in the air!  

One thing that our children may be missing out on while learning at home is regular physical activity and possibly a formal physical education curriculum. This need not be the case with FLVS!

Rural America: How Online Learning Can Provide Equitable Opportunities

We have all heard of “the” best teacher in the school. In fact, when you are lucky enough to get this teacher for your child (or yourself), you can be left feeling like you won the lottery! Thoughts fill your head thinking about how much your child will learn.

For many, we keep our fingers crossed until we receive our child’s schedule for next year and then breathe a sigh of relief (and maybe do the Happy Dance) when we see Mr. Awesome’s or Mrs. Fabulous’ name. Online learning allows fantastic teachers to be a child’s teacher regardless of the child’s zip code.

A Year of Resilience at FLVS Full Time

As I reflect on the 2019-20 school year, I am reminded of how resilient and steadfast we are. This year’s graduating seniors were born into this world post 9/11, during a time of great uncertainty, and when online education was “just a thing of the future.”

Now they are online graduates during our lifetime’s first major pandemic. It may seem unimaginable, but here we are, persevering!
