Thinking about the past five and a half years of being a student at FLVS Full Time, it would be impossible to count all the times I was asked “Wait, you’re in virtual school? What is that like?”
Today I will answer that very question: What is it like to be a Florida Virtual School Full Time student? Continue reading

6 Things to Think About When Starting High School
By Anne Flenner on March 15th, 2018
One of the most important times of a student’s life is the transition from middle school to high school. Students often ponder important questions about high school, such as:
What should I wear the first day? How can I get into PE with my best friend? How am I supposed to get from one side of the campus to the other in two minutes?

Celebrating Digital Learning at FLVS
By Florida Virtual School on February 22nd, 2018
Every year, FLVS faculty and staff attend In-Service Training Days in Orlando. It’s always a great opportunity to discuss educational advancements and explore new technologies. This year’s training was held in November and I truly think it’s one of the best times of the year for FLVS teachers.
Our annual In-Service Training Days give us a chance to “sharpen the saw,” collaborate, and network with other colleagues. (It’s kind of like a very productive high school reunion where you get to see your teammates face to face.) Once you get over how great your team leader looks with her new hair color, you can start brainstorming ways to make your live lessons more engaging next semester! Continue reading

I would like to recognize all of our outstanding CTE educators and students for making a difference in the world.
Each month, FLVS CTE will focus on a different soft skill that is essential for today’s students as they enter college or the workforce. This month’s focus is communication. Continue reading
