#FVHSClassof2023: Meet Lauren B., FLVS Foundation Scholarship Winner!

A family visit to the National Cryptologic Museum in Washington D.C. ignited a love for technology and cybersecurity in Lauren B., a recent Florida Virtual High School (FVHS) graduate. By taking cybersecurity courses through FVHS and enrolling in dual enrollment courses at Valencia College, Lauren accomplished the impressive feat of graduating a year early with a 4.0-grade point average. Plus, she is on track to receive her A.A. degree in Cybersecurity next semester.
As the graduation season for the Class of 2023 ends, we proudly recognize Lauren as one of our exceptional senior scholarship winners from the FLVS Foundation, the philanthropic organization of Florida Virtual School.

The annual Club Awards Day is a highlight of the Florida Virtual School (FLVS) school year because it recognizes the hard work, dedication, and achievements of more than 350 student leaders nominated by their FLVS club sponsors. The event demonstrates how camaraderie, friendships, and continued learning evolve outside the virtual classroom. With more than 60 student clubs and activities, FLVS offers students the opportunity to expand their knowledge and spend time with friends and classmates who share the same interests.

Elyanah G.’s father couldn’t contain his excitement when he called to tell her that she won the Florida Department of Education and Volunteer Florida’s 2023 Black History Month Student Essay contest. As a Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Full Time freshman, it was Elyanah’s first time submitting her work as part of a contest.

It’s a place that might feel heavy with expectation. Or full of promise. And it’s exactly where FLVS student Abigail Muller plans to make history.

Many are surprised to learn that FLVS offers students the opportunity to join student clubs and activities. As an online school, we know how important it is for our Kindergarten-12th grade students to get involved outside of taking courses. Students need a safe space to explore interests, strengthen skills, build their resume, and most importantly, make connections and friends.

FLVS Full Time Grad Makes Noise in Music Industry

The moment he hit the stage at Country Thunder — to the tune of hundreds of cheers — Noah Schnacky’s signature smile lit up his face. It was the first time the Windermere-area native had been invited to play the main stage at the annual country-music festival in Kissimmee, and he was both thrilled and right at home on stage.
